How To Use an Improv Comedy Show to Help Sell Homes

Improv Comedy Festival Attracts Home Buyers to the Coachella Valley

Indio, CA (PRWEB) July 09, 2014

Brad Schmett, Broker Associate with Luxury Homes by Keller Williams, today announced the highly anticipated Coachella Valley Improv/Comedy Festival set for July 11-13 will be a major attraction for luxury home buyers, many of whom will be coming from the Los Angeles and Orange County areas to compete in the inaugural event.

Scheduled for the perfectly suited Indio Performing Arts Center in downtown Indio, this will be the first ever collaborative event of its kind for the Center and the City of Indio for comedy competition. The festival will run daily with workshops from 10am to 2pm on Saturday and Sunday. Performances will run from 4-9pm both days with a final awards reception Sunday Night. The Indio Performing Arts Center was established in 2006 as a nonprofit organization whose mission is to foster a creative environment of awareness and education of the performing arts for the entire Coachella Valley.

Schmett recently discussed the event, “It is such a thrill to see this comedy festival get off the ground this year. There is no question but that we will see some of the brightest and best of upcoming comedy professionals up close and personal at this premier event. It is safe to assume that our office will be busier than usual with the level of attendance expected during this three-day gala. As with most events in the Valley, once visitors see our relaxed lifestyle and all we have to offer, the next logical step is buying a vacation home for themselves. It is always great to welcome new friends and neighbors.”

The off season time frame is expected to be an additional boost for local hotels, restaurants and spas as well since they are usually slower this time of year.

For our latest mission, we recreated the famous "triple dog dare" scene from A Christmas Story on an NYC subway car. Instead of licking a flagpole, our character licked a subway pole. Using a prosthetic tongue with a magnet inside, we were able to get his tongue to appear stuck to the pole, much to the surprise of New Yorkers on the train.

Mission Report: Spartacus In Real Life

VIDEO EVERY TUESDAY THIS FALL – SUBSCRIBE: http://bit.ly/iesub

For our latest mission we staged the iconic "I am Spartacus!" scene from Spartacus in a Manhattan Starbucks. I ordered a drink and gave the name "Spartacus." When the barista called the name, a group of 20 men stood up one-by-one proclaiming to be Spartacus. The real punchline arrived at the end, when a man dressed as a Roman slave arrived to claim the beverage. The scene was produced without the knowledge of the Starbucks.

VIDEO EVERY TUESDAY THIS FALL – SUBSCRIBE: http://bit.ly/iesub

For our latest mission, we sent an 11-year-old actor dressed as Harry Potter into New York's Pennsylvania Station to search for Platform 9 3/4. Harry wandered the station with a caged owl and a luggage cart and asked both strangers and transit employees how to get to the Hogwarts Express, presenting them with his Platform 9 3/4 ticket.
