Thousands Throw Hands In The Air Like They Don’t Care At All

I was at an electronic dance music (EDM) concert in Chicago, and internationally-renowned DJ Testes stood on his DJ booth and encouraged the crowd of thousands of fans to put their hands in the air.

The crowd responded with enthusiasm, throwing their hands in the air, swaying to the relentless beat. They knew every note of every tune Testes spun on stage, and cheered en masse when the beat dropped.

“I love DJ Testes,” a young concert-goer shouted over the noise. She said, “I go to every DJ Testes show, and this is the best one yet.”

“Why are you throwing your hands like that?” I asked.

“I don’t care. I just don’t care anymore,” she said.
