A Star is Born – Movie Review
A Star is Born – Movie Review
Is Hollywood out of ideas? Duh. This is the FOURTH remake of the “A Star is Born” story.
Gee, why not make 12 remakes of “Porky’s”? Or 23 versions of “Heaven’s Gate”?
I want to head down to the multiplex and see “Howard the Duck 26.”
But here we are. You’ve seen this movie before, but let’s recap. Famous man on the way down, talented newcomer woman on the way up.
Starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, you’ll need to bring tissues to see this movie. That’s because the person in front of you hasn’t bathed since the original “A Star is Born,” and your eyes will be tearing from the searing pain in your nostrils.
Oldheads will say, “I’m not seeing this one. The 1976 one with Barbara Streisand and the bearded guy was really, really bad.”
Here’s why you should give this one a try, old timer. Andrew Dice Clay is Lady Gaga’s father.
In the movie?
Yes, in the movie, what did you think I meant — in real life? Sure, Andrew Dice Clay is Lady Gaga’s real father. That’s why one of her songs goes:
Hickory dickory dock
Caught in a bad romance
OH!
