Canada Says I Got Your Tariff Right Here
Canada unleashed a barrage of tariffs on US goods from lawnmowers to ketchup. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced the tariffs at a press conference the day before American’s Independence Day, the Fourth of July.
“We have long had a good relationship with the US, but that bond is being tested by Donald Trump with his unprecedented tariffs on Canadian goods,” Trudeau said. “In addition to ketchup, lawnmowers and dishwasher detergent, we will impose tariffs on Disney goods, hot dogs, apple pie, Elvis records, and In’N’Out burgers. Frankly, Five Guys is better anyway, but I digress. Tariffs will also be applied to Chevrolet, Ford, baseball products, Richard Nixon products, MAGA hats, and Kentucky whiskey.”
