Delusional

At Lost Canyons (Sky Course) the 18th tee is 415 yards from the green (silver tees). The tee is set high above the fairway. From up there it looks like you could hit the green if you cleared a ridge about 325 yards out on the left side. I decided to go for it.

I concentrated on a slow swing and nutted it. The ball rocketed high along the left side of the fairway and went up in the sky. I could see it start to fade as it came down but then lost it in the distance. In? Out? Cleared the ridge? Who knows?

As we got approached the middle of the fairway, one of our group said,”There is a ball sitting next to the pin!”

Holy Titleist!!?? Did I drive a 415 yard hole to within 3 inches of the pin? I took out my Nikon binoculars. I could plainly see the ball but couldn’t make out the brand. I felt nervous and excited.

Someone else said, “Joe, here is your ball”. I looked down to see my ball at the 330 mark. It turns out the foursome in front of us was messing with us and left an old ball next to the pin.
