Foiled at the National Fencing Championships

The US Fencing National Championships wrapped up today in Columbus. I learned you don’t call it a sword. There are three types of competition blades used – the foil, which is what you probably picture in your head, the épée and the sabre. The last two are sort of mini-foils. That said, I think they should have at least one competition where they dress up like Samurai and use katanas to fight to the death.
