How to terrify your enemies in 72 hours or less

Fun history fact: In just a few days, Romans would build a fully formed castrum (plural castra) within eyesight of enemy lands, basically the ancient equivalent of rolling up with a prefab military base, complete with walls, roads, and gates. It was terrifying to their enemies and a testament to how the Romans got so much more advanced than many of the cultures around them.
For example, they did this to the Gauls, particularly during Julius Caesar’s campaigns in Gaul (58-50 BCE).
First Gaul: “What is that? It wasn’t here yesterday!”
Second Gaul: “It’s the Romans telling us we are screwed.”
