If I flap my arms, I may be able to fly

10-14. Today is sports history (1975). In Game 6 of the World Series, Boston Red Sox catcher Carlton Fisk hit a dramatic 12th-inning home run against the Cincinnati Reds. Fisk famously waved his arms to will the ball fair, resulting in one of baseball’s most memorable moments and helping the Red Sox force a Game 7.

More craziness happened in 1975. The Baltimore Claws were an American Basketball Association team set to begin play for the 1975-1976 season. With few season tickets sold and after a loss of three exhibition games in a row, the team collapsed without playing a single official game.
