Man refuses to pull into intersection to make left turn
- Says he just wants to play fair, feels safer
- Other drivers pound steering wheel
- City considers adding signs
A man turning left refused to move into the intersection when the light turned green. “Why should I move into the intersection?” he said to reporters. “I’m much safer at the line. It doesn’t make sense to move into a dangerous intersection unless I can actually turn left as I intend.”
Advised that it is customary and more efficient that he move up into the intersection to wait for a clearing, he said, “Says who? Are you a police officer? That makes no sense at all. I wait until there is an opening and then I ease up and safely make the turn!”
The man in the car behind him appeared upset. “This guy does this every time. It makes no sense. I’ve seen multiple turns of the lights go by and he’s still sitting there at the line. MOVE UP! Last week he stayed at the line and was able to make the turn at the last second so he jumped forward and left ME behind. We could have easily cleared three cars if he would have just moved up like a decent human being.”
