Spaghetti trees in Switzerland

10-11. Today in sports history: Deion Sanders famously played in both an NFL game for the Atlanta Falcons and Game 5 of the NLCS for the Atlanta Braves on the same day. Sanders flew from Miami, where the Falcons played, to Pittsburgh for the Braves game, becoming the only athlete to participate in both an MLB and NFL game on the same day.

1992 was a crazy year. A popular conspiracy theory spread that spaghetti grew on trees, a replay of a hoax from the 1950s when the BBC produced an April Fool’s Day special report on spaghetti trees in Switzerland.
