3 Reasons You Really, Really Need a Summer Vacation
With Memorial Day a couple of days away, thoughts turn once again to summer vacation. You don’t think you can afford it but, let’s face it, you are under too much pressure and really need a vacation. Here’s why.
Customer Return
When one of your customers returned a memory-foam pillow to the local shop you own with your wife, you started yelling in the store: “Oh, SURE, return it now! After you’ve slept on it and had dreams and nightmares with it. How am I going to sell this now. I CAN’T!”
Neighbor Kid Cuts Grass
You finally let that kid down the street cut your grass for a few bucks a week because you have to work every Saturday. But when you came home last week, you saw he didn’t leave the nice criss-cross pattern you insisted he cut into your precious lawn, the one your neighbors have complimented you on for years. “First northeast to southwest! THEN, southeast to northwest! How hard is this to understand.” you said to him as he stood looking at his shoes.
Bike Chain
Your daughter asked if you could help her with the bike chain that had come off the front sprocket of her pink two-wheeler, the one you bought her two years ago that came with pink streamers in the handle grips.
You lifted the back wheel with one hand, placed the chain on the sprocket with the other hand so you could feed it back on, and had her crank the pedals with her hand. She turned it too fast and your fingers got caught between the sprocket and the chain.
Unfortunately, the only way to get your fingers back out was to crank the sprocket a full turn until they came out the other side. Your fingers were a mangled mess of blood, bone and bicycle grease. The good thing is you passed out from the sight, which saved your daughter, your dog sleeping nearby and the whole neighborhood from hearing your blood-curdling scream.
Time for a vacation.
