10 Indianapolis residents rejected by American Idol

The whole town of Indianapolis tuned in to watch these hopefuls give it their all on American Idol. Except they were rebuffed from the very start. And they were NOT too happy about it.

Evelyn Markstone – 2005:
In 2005, Evelyn Markstone took the stage with her rendition of “Twinkle Toes Tango.” The judges found her vocal range too limited, and her dance moves distracting. Simon Cowell remarked, “It’s a singing competition, not a circus.” Evelyn stormed off the stage, tossing her glittery shoes at the judges, proclaiming, “You wouldn’t know talent if it danced on your face!”

Barney Cleverstone – 2007:
Barney Cleverstone’s 2007 performance of “Rocky Road Blues” had the judges cringing. Paula Abdul gently told him, “Your voice has… unique qualities, but it’s not what we’re looking for.” Barney, red-faced, accused the judges of having “tone-deaf ears” and stomped off, shouting about the “injustice of musical taste.”

Cassandra Drift – 2009:
Cassandra Drift’s airy rendition of “Whispers in the Wind” in 2009 left the judges unimpressed. Randy Jackson commented, “It’s just not working, dawg.” Cassandra, visibly upset, released a gust of wind from a handheld fan, messing up the judges’ hair and papers, declaring, “May your lives be as disheveled as your hair!”

Frankie Bolt – 2011:
Frankie Bolt’s speedy performance of “Lightning Licks” had the judges blinking in confusion in 2011. Jennifer Lopez said, “I couldn’t catch a single word, honey.” Frankie, agitated, zipped around the stage, messing up the set and retorted, “Maybe if you’d listen faster, you’d understand genius!”

Gertrude Meadows – 2013:
In 2013, Gertrude Meadows’s monotone version of “Grassy Grooves” had the judges yawning. Keith Urban mentioned, “It’s a bit too one-note for me, mate.” Gertrude, unimpressed, threw grass seeds at the judges, grumbling, “Hope it grows as well as my fan base will!”

Lenny Marsh – 2015:
Lenny Marsh’s watery performance of “Soggy Serenade” in 2015 left the judges dry. Harry Connick Jr. remarked, “I’m just not feeling it.” Lenny, drenched in anger, splashed water from a bucket onto the judges, exclaiming, “Feel that!”

Wendy Gale – 2017:
Wendy Gale’s chaotic performance of “Tornado Twist” in 2017 had the judges holding onto their seats. Katy Perry commented, “It’s a no from me, it’s too all over the place.” Wendy, swirling with rage, threw papers in the air, yelling, “You haven’t seen chaos yet!”

Norman Spirelli – 2019:
Norman Spirelli’s floppy rendition of “Pasta Passion” in 2019 had the judges questioning his recipe for success. Lionel Richie said, “It’s not the flavor we’re looking for.” Norman, boiling with anger, flung spaghetti at the judges, shouting, “Taste the defeat!”

Felicity Glow – 2021:
Felicity Glow’s glowing performance of “Luminous Love” in 2021 left the judges in the dark. Luke Bryan stated, “It’s not shining through for me.” Felicity, sparking with anger, turned off all the stage lights, snapping, “Dwell in my shadows!”

Quincy Tremor – 2023:
Quincy Tremor’s ground-shaking rendition of “Seismic Symphony” in 2023 had the judges feeling unstable. Katy Perry mentioned, “It’s just too much rumble, not enough melody.” Quincy, erupting with fury, stomped off the stage, causing a tremor, yelling, “Feel the vibrations of rejection!”
