11 Surprising Things About Ohio That Will Make You Bite Your Bottom Lip

Everybody knows Ohio is round at both ends and H-I in the middle. But you probably didn’t know these 11 interesting things about the Buckeye State.

1.Every winter moose from Canada swim across Lake Erie and spend December through March playing poker and pinochle in Cleveland.

2.Ohio was the first state to allow medical marijuana as an acceptable substance to help get through medical school.

3.Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati all begin with the letter C because early pioneers had not learned any letters past C. It wasn’t until later settlers with higher education arrived that they named Dayton and other towns that started with the letter D onwards.

10.Ohioans are known for being friendly, efficient and deadly with a meat cleaver in close quarter combat.

11.The Wright Brothers invented airplanes as a way to get away from their wives and families and have a little peace riding the air.
