222-0? Why don’t we just concede the game and go get some brewskies?

Vegas has Ohio State (11-0) as 7 point favorites over Michigan (11-0) this weekend here in Cbus. Weather – 54 degrees and dry (well, it’s the Midwest. The weather changes every 10 seconds). Should be a banger.

Michigan leads the all-time record between the two: 59-52-6 (includes the vacated OSU win in 2010). The first game was in 1897 which Michigan won 84-0. They also dominated every year after that until OSU got its stuff together and finally won in 1919 in Ann Arbor 13-3. In 1902 Michigan set the biggest victory margin with an 86-0 win.

Sure, 86-0 is bad. But consider the case of the biggest blowout in college football history: Georgia Tech beat Cumberland 222-0 in 1916. Let’s say 70 percent of the score was touchdowns and 30 percent field goals and miscellaneous. That’s roughly 22 touchdowns and 22 field goals or so. Daaaanngg!
