Deer drives a bus in Pittsburgh

Deer are thriving in the Eastern U.S. The deer population is growing faster than cities can control them.

No where is this more true than in Pittsburgh. There are more deer than people.

I know this for a fact because I’ve seen it with my own eyes.

You may not know Pittsburgh is a very hilly area with dense forest. Deer roam around the streets like they own the place.

I went around a slow-moving bus and looked over at the driver. It was a 10-point buck at the wheel. And half the riders were deer.

Pittsburghians will tell you, “Oh, it’s normal for us. They won’t hurt you.”

OK, but who is covering the tax bill for their education? Forty percent of public school students are deer. They are very good in PE with super fast 40 times and great vertical leap. They are also good at eluding defenders on pass routes. But their basketball dribbling and football-catching skills are weak at best. Some deer can catch the ball in their antlers but it’s a rare skill.
