Local Man on Porch Reports Resting Heart Rate Remains Unchanged

A man rocking on his porch in a quiet area of the city reported today his resting heart rate remains unchanged from the time he began tracking it three years ago.

“A few years ago I had the idea of writing down my heart rate in this wire notebook I keep in my shirt pocket. It hasn’t moved a speck since I started.”

The man wears a Fitbit “action tracker” that records his movements and heart rate.

“My niece told me about this gadget here,” he said, pointing to the Fitbit. It records my heart rate, which hasn’t changed in three years. Then I write the number in the notebook.”

Hearing a noise, he looked down the street a piece to see what was causing it. It was the paperboy coming around with the newspaper delivery.

A few birds tweeted up in the trees.

“Looks like rain later this week,” the main said.
