Man’s Wallet Excavated By Bitcoin Miners

A local man discovered bitcoin miners had excavated most of the money in his wallet. Bitcoin miners are an important part of cryptocurrencies, helping provide the infrastructure to enable bitcoin buying and selling. As currencies like Bitcoin and Ether began to drop significantly in value during 2018, miners turned to directly excavating wallets to survive.

“I was at Best Buy,” the man said, “Checking out the iPhones. I look behind me, and some of those Bitcoin miners were working on the display computers they had commandeered for their mining. Next thing I know, one of them hooks up a cable to the back pocket on my jeans, and they downloaded all the paper money in my wallet right on to their hard drive. It was the cleanest theft I ever saw.”

Upon detection, the miners grabbed their computers and ran. The man is working closely with police to bring them to justice..
