Not Showing Up At All

Setting the bar for innovation and cutting-edge thinking, Evan Notgonnabethere is wowing critics and fans alike with his new hour-long comedy special, “Absent.”

Instead of performing during his hour-long comedy special for Netflix, Evan did some laundry, walked to the nearby Whole Foods to get some Peruvian coffee he always wanted to try, and took his dog Punchline to the beach. He never appears on stage for the entire show.

“I saw the final cut before they put it up on Netflix,” he said. “The audience is restless at the beginning because no one is on stage and they don’t know what to do. After awhile, they get into and really enjoy it. They can see what am I am doing and feel part of something special.”
