Richard Sherman Calls Seahawks “Middle of the Road”
Former Seattle Seahawks star Richard Sherman, who now plays for the San Francisco 49ers, recently called his old squad a “middle of the road” team.
The Seahawks are now 8 and 5 at this writing, including a 43-16 spanking of the 49ers on Dec 2, 2018. They have another match scheduled for this Sunday, Dec 16th at Levi Stadium.
Seahawk fans reacted quickly. “Sherman, who is Sherman?” asked one fan. “The only Sherman I know was on The Jeffersons TV show.”
Another fan said, “Richard Sherman was popular in 2012. You know what was also popular that year: ‘Gangnam Style.’ Richard Sherman is as relevant as a song with people dancing like they are riding a horse.”
“When he was here, he was part of the ‘Legion of Boom,’ the dominant secondary that gave us one of the best pass defenses in the league,” surmised another fan. “Now he plays for the 49ers, a once-great, now cellar-dwelling team I call the ‘Legion of Doom.'”
“Is he really serious?” asked another fan, putting out his cigarette. “Richard Sherman was always running his mouth, like a junior Kanye West, but without the talent.”
“Listen, here, Richard Sherman,” said a fan wearing a nerf-Seahawks helmet while eating a hoagie on a quiet pier near downtown. “Your time has come and went, and now you are as relevant as bragging about snagging tickets to ‘Hamilton.'”
A spokesperson for Sherman said he was formulating a response and would post it on Instagram.
