The 227 point threat — bull elk challenge horse over lunch

This horse was minding his own business, in his own pen, mind you, eating lunch, when a bull elk decided he wanted some of that delicious hay for himself.

The horse said, “No way, mate!” and did a fake-charge move that made the elk lower his impressive rack for defense.

That should have been it, but when you are hungry, you do weird things. And this elk might of been HANGRY, because as one commenter pointed out it appears to be young bull who got muscled out of the herd by a stronger, bigger, wiser old bull. That tends to make you mad.

So he starts to approach that tasty hay again and the horse reacts the same way.

In the foreground, Rip Van Winkle is trying to operate his new-fangled phone to get a picture. How about just yelling loudly, “Git on outta here! GIT!” I mean it’s worth a try.

But what does he do? He throws what looks like a slipper at the elk.

And the elk looks incredulous, thinking,”Listen, Old Man and the Sea, at least throw something that might hurt me. I’m insulted. You throw a soft slipper? Do you see this 227 point rack on my head, any two of which could pierce your phone and heart at the same time? Have some respect, Mmkay?
