NYC Finally Fixes Tragic Misspelling of the Verazzanno-Narrows Bridge
It was only one letter short.
Due to a decades-old oversight, the New York‘s Verazzanno-Narrows Bridge was missing a “z.”
City leaders finally acknowledged this historic slight of the renowned explorer the bridge is named after.
Not that big a deal, you say? How would you like your name misspelled on a bridge used by millions of people each day? See what I mean.
But, hey, let’s give the mayor’s office credit. They are fixing an important part of the city’s heritage. In fact, they went the extra mile and are correcting several other spelling mistakes around the area:
-Statyew of Liburtee.
-Sintral Park
-Dimes Square
-Umpire State Building
-Looklyn Bridge
-Metropullitdwon Mooseum of Art
-Stockyfella Center
-Bran Cereal Terminal
-Phoney Island
-Googleheim Museum
It’s never too late to do the right thing.
