Patrick Mahomes is the Clutch King

(Feb 19, 2024). There have been 125 drives in the NFL playoffs since 2001 where the offensive team is behind 7 points or less AND there is either less than 60 seconds left in the game or it is overtime.

If they don’t score, their season is cooked and they break out the golf clubs and head to Florida. And that is usually what happens — they either win or send it into overtime 40 percent of the time.

Over their careers, Brady went 5-11 in this situation. Brees went 3-6.

Patrick Mahomes? He is a PERFECT 7 for 7, two of which happened in the recent Super Bowl.
The Chiefs were behind 3 points near the end of the fourth and hit a field goal to tie the game. The 49ers scored a field goal in overtime right away. No problem. Mahomes took it all the way down for the winning touchdown. (Src: Frank Hrelja/IG)

That makes Mahomes the most clutch NFL QB in history! 💪💪💪

I mean, as long as you don’t count the fact that there have been ZERO holding calls against the Chiefs O line in their last three Super Bowls. But who’s counting? 😁
