You’re the ruler now, kid

In 2 Kings 24:8, the Bible says Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began his reign as King of Judah, but in 2 Chronicles 36:9 it says he was eight years old.

Now becoming the ruler at eighteen would be tough. You wouldn’t have time to play pool in bars while watching the Browns lose to the Lions. But I think he could grow into the job.

But eight!

That’s a lot of pressure to put on a kid. Especially when he wants to play Minecraft all day and put pennies on the railroad tracks so the train squeezes them down super thin.

Does an 8-year-old even have the intelligence to make good decisions?

“I hereby sentence you to only eating vegetables. FOR FOUR YEARS.”

“FOUR YEARS?? Of Vegetables?? Your excellency, not VEGETABLES!! Please!!”

“It is decreed! Take him away!!”

“Noooooo…….”
