3 Reasons the Boston Red Sox Will Beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2018 World Series

The other day we looked at why the Dodgers will win this series. Today we’ll examine three reasons why the Red Sox will take it all.

Game One Win

First of all, the Red Sox are already winning. Game one is in the can and the Red Sox racked up their first win yesterday. The Dodgers will find this mentally devastating because they are from Hollywood.

Let me explain. The reason you see a blitzkrieg of ads for a new movie right at the beginning of the first weekend is if it doesn’t open well, it will die a quick death. Being from Hollywood, the Dodgers have this in the back of their minds, a sharp spur in their brain that will affect their play negatively from here on out.

Chris Sale’s Arm Slot

Chris Sale pitches with a unique three-quarter arm angle — he is a special kind of “sidewinder.” It is very difficult for batters to determine the trajectory or each pitch because his pitching style doesn’t give a clear indication what is going to happen.

Sale is so good at this, he even developed what he calls the “boomerang ball” that flies directly over the batter’s head, loops around third base, back over Sale’s shoulder and over the base for an inevitable strike. The pitch is 100 percent effective, but he can’t pull it out every time because it is so demanding. “I have to dislocate my shoulder to do that pitch,” he told reporters. “So I only use it when we really need the out.”

Dropkick Murphys is a Celtic punk band from Massachusetts. You heard that right. Their 2004 single “Tessie” is probably their best known song and an unofficial anthem of the Red Sox. It’s a soaring. rousing, rocking song that makes audiences cheer and shout their allegiance to the Sox.
