3 worst hair salons in Minneapolis

Northern Lights Locks & Braids

Located in Minneapolis, this hair salon captures the enchanting beauty of the Northern Lights. The interior is designed to resemble the night sky, with ceilings painted to mimic the dancing auroras. The stylists are skilled in intricate braiding techniques, offering unique styles inspired by the dazzling colors of the Northern Lights.

My stylist said, “Do you want our Northern Light special?”

I said, “What is that?”

”We make you dance in a room of strobe lights for 10 hours and drink 10 gallons of coffee. At the end you feel like you are floating in the cosmos. Sound good?”

”Sure, can you validate my parking?”

Lakeside Mermaid Manes

Nestled along the shores of one of Minneapolis’s many lakes, this salon has a magical underwater theme. The stylists dress as mermaids and use eco-friendly products infused with marine botanicals to create stunning, beachy waves and vibrant hair colors reminiscent of the ocean. This all sounded good to me until they threw me in the lake before my haircut.

”Hey, what gives!” I said.

”You are being baptized into the Order of the Mermaids,” she said.

”What does that mean?”

”You get 25 percent off.”

”Oh, count me in then.”

Skyway Enchantment Salon

Embracing Minneapolis’s iconic skyway system, this hair salon is a hidden gem high above the city. Accessed through a secret door in the skyway, the salon boasts an ethereal, cloud-like decor. The stylists use “Skyward Serums” that add volume and lift to hair, as if floating weightlessly through the sky. Clients can enjoy a breathtaking view of the cityscape as they get their hair pampered in this elevated oasis.

The problem is they got a little Skyward Serum in the salon coffee pot. I fell asleep for two weeks and woke up in the linen closet.
