A steadfast flame

Larry the Mastiff loves his girlfriend mastiff across the street. But he can’t see her because winter has set in.

Winter sets in, and love doth remain,
A faithful mastiff, pining for his love,
Across the street she dwells, yet he doth strain
To catch a glimpse, or hear her sweet coo.

The snow falls gently, blanketing the ground,
And with each flake, his heart doth ache,
For though he cannot see, nor hear the sound,
Of her sweet voice, or touch her soft fur.

His love for her doth still endure,
A steadfast flame, that cannot be deterred,
For though the winter may be cold and raw,
His love for her will always thaw.

And when the spring returns, and flowers bloom,
He’ll race across the street, to his love’s side,
And they’ll spend their days in each other’s womb,
A love so strong, it cannot be denied.
