Governor Abbot pledges to bus dozens of undocumented immigrants across Texas to help repair rickety power grid

Texas governor Greg Abbott today pledged to bus dozens of undocumented immigrants across Texas in a voluntary program to help work on the state’s rickety power grid. A spokesperson said the grid has been neglected for many years and needs serious repairs to prevent the 2021 failure that left thousands without heat in the winter cold. “Workers get housing, fair pay and benefits,” the spokesperson said. “We appreciate their help in carrying out these repairs we let slide for decades.”
