How the Golden State Warriors Won the 2018 NBA Championship

The Golden State Warriors swept the Cleveland Cavaliers to bring home the NBA Championship Friday night. They now have 6 championship rings out of 10 appearances over the years. How did they do it? How did they get so good? Here are three reasons.

LeBron James

The Cavs really only had a slim chance in two of the four games, and those chances relied on the skills of one LeBron James. The Cavs have lots of talented players, but it’s tough to win NBA Championships relying heavily on the skills of one superstar. It’s like golfing with 14 clubs but using your driver on every shot.

Deep Bench

The Warriors have an extremely deep bench. In the later stages of game 4, coach Steve Kerr called on the services of Stephen’s Curry 5-year-old daughter Riley. “Without Riley, we wouldn’t have been able to close them out in 4 games,” Kerr said. “She has a killer hesitation dribble and sneaky pump fake jumper.”

Passing System

Kerr has set up a near-bulletproof passing system that relies on solid teamwork and selfless play. The Warriors pass the ball quickly and efficiently, using not only every player on the floor but also cheerleaders, the popcorn guy, security guards, and hot dog vendors. In fact, if you go to a Warriors game next year, be prepared to play as well.
