Vegas Golden Knights Play Royal Family In Exhibition Match After Historic Wedding

The Vegas Golden Knights hockey team is having a stellar year. Beginning play in the NHL this season as a new expansion team, they wasted no time making themselves known. They are one game win away from qualifying for the Stanley Cup Finals, an amazing feat for a first-year team.

“We are having a great year,” said Gerard Gallant, head coach. “We’ve worked hard of course, but, knock wood, it doesn’t hurt to be lucky, too. That’s why we were surprised and delighted to be invited by Harry and Meghan to play a fun exhibition match against the royal family after the big wedding.”

“I love hockey,” said Prince Harry. “Every time we go to Canada, I like to get a few games in. The Vegas Golden Knights, or as we call them over here–VGK– are a big hit with us because they are pure winners. So I invited them over for a quick match against William, me and some of the other sporting family members.”

While many of those attending the post-wedding game didn’t seem to know what was going on, the crowd erupted with cheers when Harry got into a brawling fistfight with Ryan Reeves, once voted the toughest player in the NHL by fellow players. Reeves seem to be getting the best of it, but Harry eventually won out with help of several members of the Protection Command, tasked with security for the royal family. They held Reeves steady while Harry landed several shots to his mid-section.

Meghan Markle didn’t seem impressed with the competition. “But Harry loves rough stuff,” she winked from her seat next to the Queen, “and he’s always been a rascal.”
