Another Thursday Past Midnight in Hollywood

This casual conversation took place between a police officer and the checker in my line at Ralph’s grocery in Hollywood around 1230am.

Officer: Where does that back door lead?
Checker: To the Rite Aid but nowhere else. Why?
Officer: Guy with a weapon ran through there.
Checker: Yeah, the gun guys try to run out that way.
Me in my head: Ummmm, should we be taking cover?
