Cleveland Browns fan holds “Hire Harambe!” sign
During the dismal Cleveland Browns 2016-2017 season in which the team went 1-15, desperate fans searched for ways to alleviate their pain. One fan held aloft a “HIRE HARAME!” sign, a takeoff of popular memes circulating the internet that year about Harambe, a gorilla from the Cincinnati Zoo. Harambe was killed earlier that year in a tragic accident at the zoo.
