Hart, Schaffner and Marx Announce Partnership with Lululemon to Create Yoga Pants and Suits for Business

Athleisure, or active wear, has become the dominant mode of dress for Western cultures. Research shows many executives would wear yoga pants and athletic wear, items they usually relegate to after work and weekends, to the office if they could.

Storied fashion brand Hart Shaffner and Marx, which first opened in Chicago in 1887, recently announced a partnership with Lululemon, the popular yoga wear brand, to create a line of business active wear, popularly known as “business yoga.”

“First we had business casual Fridays in American industry. Now we’ve evolved to stay current with the trend toward active wear in all facets of life,” said Lululemon president Ann Ilookgreatinthese. “Business yoga wear is the next phase.”

The new line will debut this Christmas season. It features women’s suits, blouses, pants, shirts, and accessories designed to look professional yet highly adaptable. “Now you can stretch, move and do business with grace and ease,” said Ilookgreatinthese. “Need to get on the floor between meetings and do some yoga stretches like Downward Facing Dog? Our new line allows you to do that without changing one piece of attire. Within seconds you are back in the next meeting, leading a quarterly review of finances.”
