Portland People by Lil Stumptown

(Verse 1) Woke up in the PDX, skies a little gray, People holding doors open, man, it’s just the way. Got my coffee at the shop, barista with a smile, “Pay it forward,” she said, that’s the Portland style.

Bikers in the lane, cars give ’em space, Pedestrians jaywalking, but no one’s in a race. It’s that Northwest love, mixed with a little rain, Keeping things so chill, flowing through our veins.

(Chorus) Portland people, so polite, it’s a vibe we can’t deny, Saying ‘sorry’ all the time, under the ever-gray sky. Rain boots, craft brews, and always holding the door, It’s that 503 love, from the mountains to the shore.

(Verse 2) Farmers markets bustling, fresh kale in the mix, Vendors trading goods, no cash, just for kicks. Streetcar rolling by, folks hop on and off, Someone drops a wallet, gets returned, no scoff.

Bridge city, hipsters sipping on that brew, Tattoos, beards, and a friendly attitude too. Powell’s Books to the Blazers, we cheer real loud, But off the court, it’s kindness that makes us proud.

(Chorus) Portland people, so polite, it’s a vibe we can’t deny, Saying ‘sorry’ all the time, under the ever-gray sky. Eco-friendly, vegan treats, and always giving a hand, It’s the Portland way of life, hope you understand.

(Bridge) Now, don’t mistake our kindness, think it’s all just for show, Deep down in our hearts, it’s just the love we know. From the gorge to the coast, our spirit shines so bright, Keepin’ it weird and kind, yeah, that’s our birthright.

(Verse 3) Food trucks on the corner, serving global delights, You drop your taco? “Here, take mine, it’s alright.” Murals on the walls, telling stories of the town, Community gardens, where love gets passed around.

Night falls, neon signs light up Burnside, Live music flows, with that Portland pride. From the hip-hop beats to the indie rock tunes, One thing’s for sure, kindness is our monsoon.

(Chorus) Portland people, so polite, it’s a vibe we can’t deny, Saying ‘sorry’ all the time, under the ever-gray sky. From the North to the South, from the East to the West, Portland’s niceness game? Man, we’re simply the best.

(Outro) So if you’re ever in town, come see what it’s about, Portland, Oregon, where kindness has no doubt. Hats off to the city, where the vibe is so precise, Here in Stumptown, we’re just too darn nice!
