San Diego Resident Searches 7 Weeks in Attic and Basement for Stored Winter Jacket for Holiday Trip To Relatives in Chicago

San Diego resident Martha Puffycoat searched in her attic and basement for many weeks trying to find her winter jacket for a holiday trip to visit relatives in Chicago. “I know it’s around here somewhere,” she told friends. “I brought it with me when we moved from Minneapolis 30 years ago and haven’t used it since.”

Chicago relatives encouraged her to leave sun-splashed San Diego to attend the holiday get together because it may be the last for family patriarch John C. Puffycoat. “Otherwise I don’t think I’d attend,” Martha explained. “I’ve lived through those upper Midwest winters. Life is too short to have to put on 5 jackets and 19 pairs of socks just to go to the nearest automated bank machine to pay three dollars in transaction fees to withdraw $200.”
